As a working mum, I feel a lot of pressure to get my daughter to eat a healthy breakfast at the weekends. During the week, Lara eats her breakfast at nursery; she eats well but it is always the same thing - cereal. At the weekends Lara is always excitable so it is hard to get her to sit still to eat breakfast and despite my best attempts to offer variety, we tend to end up eating exactly the same as she has eaten all week.
The lovely people at Princes sent me a hamper of their fruity goodies in an attempt to relive the stress of breakfast time and make me generally more mellow.

We started our weekend with a glass of Orange juice (Lara's favourite) and a bowl of peach slices. Very different to normal but Lara absolutely loves fruit so I don't know why I hadn't considered it before. Tinned fruit for breakfast on a Saturday means that I don't need to worry about keeping fruit fresh for a week since our last weekend shop. It also has the added bonus that by 9am Lara has had two of her five a day already!
This week we are going to be a little bit more daring... I have plans for wholemeal pear breakfast muffins (we had some in a cute bed and breakfast on Long Island, NY the summer after we got married and I'm determined to relive that moment). Stay tuned to Mellow Mummy next week to see how we get on.
You too could be getting fruity at the breakfast table with a hamper of Princes goodies all of your very own. The Princes Breakfast Box features:-
To be in with a chance of winning, all you need to do is head over to the Princes website and choose your favourite fruity recipe and then come back here and fill in the form below with the link to your favourite (if you all send me the same URL I shall be very disappointed!). The competition closes at 7pm on the 18th October.
