As you will know, if you have followed my blog since day one, I am a big fan of rewards schemes - places who reward you for doing exactly what you would normally be doing... just with them, instead of others. For me, having a Tesco clubcard is a no-brainer - if you don't have one yet, go get one! If I'm in the mood to spend money at Tesco, I do, and I get something back as a thank-you. If I'm not in the mood to... then I don't. It's that easy.
With a Tesco clubcard you can collect points on almost everything you buy in-store at Tesco.com and from Tesco direct. You can also earn points when you buy fuel from their filling stations. Once you've collected 150 points these are converted them into a Clubcard voucher worth £1.50 which they send you in the post every so often. When you receive your statement you almost always get additional money off coupons for relevant products. You can spend your Clubcard vouchers in-store, at Tesco petrol filling stations, online at Tesco.com and at Tesco direct. One of my favourite things to do with my vouchers is to redeem them at special times of year when Tesco offer particularly good deals on certain items throughout the store and your vouchers can be worth upto twice their face value. Last year I redeemed several months worth of vouchers on nappies and made an INCREDIBLE saving.
But (and here's the great thing) you aren't restricted to spending your vouchers with Tesco themselves. If you check out the list of Clubcard Deals you'll see that there are loads of exciting days out and discounts that you can spend your rewards on. We live very close to Legoland in Windsor and have used our Tesco vouchers several times to bring friends along with us for a day trip - you can even redeem them on annual passes to Legoland or the whole Merlin group.
The other thing that we spent our Tesco clubcard vouchers on last year was pizza! You can redeem your vouchers at several restaurants such as Pizza Express and Cafe Rouge. You can exchange your clubcard vouchers for tokens or vouchers to be used in restaurants (but check beforehand that they will accept your tokens on the day and time you want to go as some places have restricted times when they will accept discounts and vouchers).
There is a MASSIVE range of things that you can spend your Clubcard vouchers on right now - discounts off holidays, lots of great UK family days out and even a little bit of pampering such as facials and even skin treatments. And all this, without having to do anything other than your everyday shop.
